Buying Yeast Infection Medicine on Amazon Japan
Meditreat is a Class 1 medicine, so Amazon Japan shows a form and a pharmacist checks your order. Here is the form in English and what to expect.
You search Amazon Japan for yeast infection medicine, add Meditreat to your cart, and a form in Japanese appears before you can pay: about ten questions about the person who will use the medicine. It looks like a lot. It isn't, once you know what each question means.
Meditreat is a Class 1 medicine (第1類医薬品). In Japan, a pharmacist has to check before a Class 1 medicine is sold, and that rule applies online too. Here is the form in English, the answers that stop an order, and what happens after you press submit.
This is the screen: Amazon Japan, October 2026, with example answers (age 28, 女性 female). The form can change over time.
Quick summary
- Meditreat is for women aged 15 to 59 whose yeast infection has come back after a doctor treated it. First time? See a gynecologist first.
- Four answers mean you should not buy it: diabetes, frequent recurrence, a blood thinner, or not being sure it is a recurrence.
- After the form comes a medicine explanation screen, and then the checkout screen (address and payment).
- After you order, an expert checks the order before it ships and may contact you. Make sure the phone number saved with your delivery address is correct.
Your order, step by step
- 1Add Meditreat to your cart and go to checkout.
- 2STEP 1/2: the form (ご使用者状態チェック). Answer the questions and press 提出 (Submit).
- 3STEP 2/2: the medicine explanation (お薬の説明と確認). Pick one of two options and press 次へ進む (Next).
- 4Checkout: the payment screen. Enter your address, delivery method and payment details, then press 注文を確定する (Place Order).
- 5An expert checks your order. The medicine ships after the check.

Is This Medicine for You? First Time vs. It Came Back
Meditreat is made for one situation: a vaginal yeast infection (candidiasis) that has come back after a doctor already diagnosed and treated it. The package insert says so directly, and it is for women aged 15 to 59.
If this is your first time with these symptoms, don't order it. Other conditions can cause the same symptoms, and a doctor needs to find out which one you have. In Japan, see a gynecologist (婦人科 or 産婦人科) first. A women's clinic (レディースクリニック) works too. (Source: Sato Pharmaceutical)
Buying at a drugstore instead? OTC Guide Japan has a printable check sheet in English to show the pharmacist.
Who Cannot Buy Meditreat: Four Answers That Stop an Order
The form lists four situations where you should not buy. The reasons come from the Japanese package insert, where it gives one.
| On the form (Japanese) | What it means | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 糖尿病と診断されたことがある | You have been diagnosed with diabetes. | Yeast infections are likely to keep coming back, so a doctor needs to see you. |
| 1〜2か月以内に1回または6か月以内に2回以上繰り返してる | It keeps coming back: once every 1 to 2 months, or twice or more within 6 months. | The package insert says not to use it if the infection comes back this often. |
| ワルファリン等の抗凝血剤を服用している | You take warfarin or another blood thinner (anticoagulant). | Warfarin's tendency to cause bleeding may become stronger. |
| 膣カンジダの再発かわからない | You are not sure whether it is a recurrence. | If you can't tell for yourself, see a doctor. |
The form shows only four. The package insert lists more: don't use it if you are under 15 or 60 or older, pregnant or possibly pregnant, or have fever, chills, lower abdominal pain, colored or fishy-smelling discharge, abnormal bleeding, or sores. OTC Guide Japan has translated the full list on the Meditreat Vaginal Suppositories page.
The Amazon Japan Form, Question by Question
This is the form from the screenshot at the top of this page (Meditreat, 6 suppositories). The top of the page says to answer about the person who will use the medicine (必ずお薬のご使用者様本人の情報をご記載ください).
Check every answer. When the form first opened, questions 5 to 10 were already filled in: No, No, No, No, Yes, and "I agree" for question 10. The choices are also not in the same order for every question (for example, "No / Yes" for questions 5 to 8, but "Yes / No" for question 9). Read each one before you submit, and make sure it is true for you.
The form changes with your answers. When we chose 女性 (Female) for question 3, two more questions appeared: pregnancy (3-1) and breastfeeding (3-2). Nothing else was added, and these two questions don't appear when 男性 (Male) is chosen. (The screenshot above is the female version.) They are shaded in the table below. Pregnancy matters because the package insert says not to use Meditreat if you are pregnant or may be pregnant, and to talk to a doctor or pharmacist first if you are breastfeeding.

|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 商品ページに記載されている商品の説明を読み、内容を理解しました | I read the product description on the product page and understood it. | はい (Yes) only |
| 2 | ご使用者様の年齢 | Age of the person who will use it. | Type a number |
| 3 | ご使用者様の性別 | Sex of the person who will use it. | 男性 (Male) / 女性 (Female) |
| 3-1 | 妊娠していますか | Are you pregnant? (appears after you choose 女性) | いいえ (No) is selected at first. Change it to はい (Yes) if it applies. |
| 3-2 | 授乳していますか | Are you breastfeeding? (appears after you choose 女性) | いいえ (No) is selected at first. Change it to はい (Yes) if it applies. |
| 4 | 症状または使用目的 | Symptoms or purpose of use. | One choice: 膣カンジダの再発(過去に医師から膣カンジダの診断・治療を受けた方に限る)= recurrence of vaginal candidiasis, only for people a doctor has diagnosed and treated before |
| 5 | 治療中の疾患はありますか | Are you being treated for any disease? | いいえ (No) / はい (Yes) |

| 9 | この医薬品の使用経験はありますか | Have you used this medicine before? | はい (Yes) / いいえ (No) |
| 10 | ご提出いただく確認事項を、薬剤師が確認を行い電話で連絡いたします。上記ご了承いただいたうえでご注文ください。 | A pharmacist will review the answers you submit and contact you by phone. Please order only if you agree. | 了承したうえで注文します (I agree and will order) / 了承しない (I do not agree) |
What Happens After You Submit
After you press 提出 (Submit), Amazon shows a second screen: STEP 2/2, お薬の説明と確認 (medicine explanation and confirmation). This is not the payment screen. Payment comes after it.
STEP 2/2 for Meditreat, Amazon Japan, October 2026.
This screen repeats the key points of the package insert:
- Talk to a doctor or pharmacist first if you are under hospital care, you are breastfeeding, or a medicine once gave you a rash.
- How to use it: one suppository at bedtime for 6 days, in the vagina only. Not for under 15 or 60 and over, and not during your period. Keep it away from latex condoms and diaphragms.
- When to see a doctor: no improvement after 3 days, or symptoms still there after 6 days.
Before you press Next, pick one of two options
At the bottom of the screen there are two options, and you choose one. The screen says to choose one and then go on to the purchase.
お薬の説明を理解しました。専門家への質問もありません。
I understood the medicine explanation. I have no question for an expert.
専門家への質問があります。
I have a question for an expert. Choose this if there is anything you are unsure about.
Then press 次へ進む (Next).
The next screen is the payment screen (the usual Amazon checkout): your address, delivery method and payment details. Press 注文を確定する (Place Order) there to finish the order.
The Pharmacist Check: What the Notes on That Screen Say
At the bottom of STEP 2/2, Amazon lists these notes about the order (our translation):
- The medicine ships only after an expert has confirmed proper use (for some products, by video call). The delivery date shown on the order confirmation screen may change.
- If the expert decides it is not proper use, the order is cancelled.
- Sold and shipped by Amazon: depending on your answers, an expert may contact you directly. If you get an email titled 「医薬品に関する適正使用確認のお知らせ」 (notice of proper-use confirmation), follow the instructions in it to get the explanation.
- Sold and shipped by a seller (出品者): depending on your answers, the seller's expert may contact you. The expert will call your phone number, so check that the phone number saved with your delivery address is correct.
- In both cases, if the check isn't finished within a set period, all the medicines in the order are cancelled.
- Medical history needs the person's own consent. If you are buying for someone else, don't put information in the form that shows your relationship to them or identifies them.
Who sells it matters. When we checked in October 2026, the Meditreat listing was sold and shipped by a seller (エナジードラッグ), not by Amazon itself. The "Sold by" line on the product page tells you which case you are in. (Amazon's own guide describes the same order.)
What the expert asks isn't written on the screen, so we can't tell you. The screen is in Japanese, so expect Japanese. Keep your phone nearby after you order, and pick up numbers you don't know. A Japanese-speaking friend or a translation app helps.

Suppository, Cream, or Both?
Taisho, the maker, has a pre-purchase check sheet that helps you choose by where your symptoms are:
- Only inside the vagina: Meditreat Vaginal Suppositories.
- Inside the vagina and on the outer area (vulva): the suppositories together with Meditreat Cream.
- Only on the outer area: Meditreat Cream. The sheet adds that using the suppositories as well is desirable, because the cause may also be inside the vagina.
Other Class 1 yeast infection medicines on this site: Empecid L, Flady CC, Flady CC1, and Okinazole L100. Each product can show its own questions, so the form you see may not match the one above.
